On May 20, 2015, in Dnipropetrovsk (now Dnipro), Alisa Kolpakchy stood on the podium in the PT4 women’s category. Since 2010, Alisa had been involved in swimming and earned the title of Candidate for Master of Sports of Ukraine. In 2013, she transitioned to athletics, and by 2015, she began competing in triathlon. At the Ukrainian Paratriathlon Championship in Dnipropetrovsk, Alisa won the silver medal.

The 2015 European Championships in Geneva marked her international debut. She then participated in the World Paratriathlon Series in Chicago, Buffalo City, Águilas, and another European Championship in Lisbon in 2016, followed by the World Championships. On July 24, 2016, in Rotterdam, Alisa finished fourth out of the top 11 competitors. These results secured her a spot to represent Ukraine at the Paralympic Games in the PT4 category.

On September 11, 2016, triathlon made its debut at the Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. Six sets of medals were awarded, and in the PT4 class, Alisa finished sixth.

In the following Paralympic cycle, athlete classifications were changed, and Alisa moved into the PTS5 class. She became the Ukrainian champion in 2017 and 2018. Along with these achievements, she also earned podium finishes on the international stage. Alisa became a winner and medalist in the World Paratriathlon Cup and the European Championships.

As the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic qualification window closed, Alisa once again secured a slot for Ukraine. On August 28, 2021, she represented her country at the Paralympic Games, finishing fifth in the women’s PTS5 category.

The Tokyo Paralympics saw eight sets of medals awarded in triathlon. Alisa Kolpakchy, Anatolii Varfolomeyev (PTVI, guide: Kostiantyn Vechkanov), and Vita Oleksiuk (PTVI, guide: Liliya Baranovska) represented Ukraine at this major event of the four-year cycle. The PTVI category debuted at the Paralympics in Tokyo.

Looking ahead to Paris 2024, Alisa is confidently advancing, having secured two podium finishes at the European Championships in Madrid. In the world rankings, she holds the sixth position and has already earned a slot for Ukraine in the PTS5 class.

The swimming portion at the Paris Paralympics will take place in the Seine River, where athletes will face strong currents, reaching speeds of up to 1.1 meters per second, presenting a significant challenge for athletes with impairments.

Alisa Kolpakchy completed her race in Paris in eighth place, marking her as a three-time Paralympian. Her coaches are Oleksiy Tsiluvanykov and Raisa Lagutenko, and her first coach was Yana Sytnikova.
