Europe Triathlon Elections 2025: A New Chapter in the History of European Triathlon
The 2025 Europe Triathlon Elections mark a pivotal moment in shaping the future of the sport across the continent. The candidates who put their names forward reflected a shared passion, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the continued growth of triathlon in Europe.
On February 18, Europe Triathlon officially released the list of nominees. Among the candidates for the position of Vice President was Bogdan Mykhalus, President of the Ukrainian Triathlon Federation of— a significant milestone for Ukrainian representation on the continental stage.
On March 22, during the Annual General Assembly in Istanbul, the triathlon community gathered to elect its new leadership. With impressive turnout and engagement, the elections highlighted once again the dynamic evolution of triathlon as one of the fastest-growing sports in Europe.
Elected Officials:
President: Marc D’hooge (Luxembourg)
Treasurer: Kaisa Tamminen (Finland)
Vice Presidents: Herwig Grabner (Austria), Alan Ryan (Ireland)
Additionally, members were elected to the Executive Board, Technical Committee, Development Committee, Women’s Committee, and Audit Committee.
Six candidates were in the running for the two Vice Presidential roles: Herwig Grabner, Alan Ryan, Bogdan Mykhalus, and Riccardo Giubilei of Italy. Hungarian candidate Tamas Toth and Romania’s Vlad Sorica withdrew their nominations before the vote.
The 2025 elections not only signal a strategic direction for Europe Triathlon but also showcase the unity, strength, and shared ambition of its member nations. With a fresh leadership team and growing international collaboration, triathlon in Europe is set to enter a new era of opportunity and visibility.
