Шановний Антоніо Арімані,

Федерація Триатлону України вже майже рік потерпає від російської агресії,як і весь
український народ. Наші триатлети потерпають від повітряних тривог, а з ними – від
ракет, безпілотників, авіації та всього, чим Росія намагається нас убити. Багато
членів Федерації зараз перебувають на фронті, боронячи країну від ворога. Багато
наших спортсменів волонтерять або ж юні вихованці змушені тікати від війни в інші
країни – аби в безпеці відновлювати тренування.

І в цей же час ми з величезною прикрістю дізнаємося, що російський делегат
відвідує XXXV Всесвітній Конгрес з Триатлону в Абу-Дабі. Що з громадянами
країни-вбивці відновлюють діалог, запрошують їх на заходи та брати участь у
подальшій роботі. До того ж, президент Федерації Триатлону Росії Ксенія Шойгу є
донькою міністра оборони Росії Сергія Шойгу. Батько Ксенії віддає накази вбивати
українців і знищувати нашу країну, а лідери світової триатлонної спільноти
продовжують спілкування з нею.

Висловлюємо велике обурення у зв’язку з інформацією, що з російських
триатлоністів знімають санкції, яких вони заслужили. Це неприпустимо! В час, коли
Росія веде проти України неспровоковану, цинічну війну, під час якої гинуть діти і
найкращі наші солдати – герої, ви робите все, щоб відмити цих «спортсменів» від
крові українців. Тож закликаємо підтримувати відмову вести комунікацію з
федерацією Росії, поки триває жорстока геноцидна війна Росії в Україні та гинуть
абсолютно невинні українці, зокрема діти – майбутнє українського спорту! І не
допускати спортсменів країни-агресорки до міжнародних змагань з триатлону!

Dear Antonio Arimany,

The Ukrainian Triathlon Federation has been grappling with the dire consequences of
Russian aggression for nearly a year, with Ukrainian triathletes, like all citizens of the
country, suffering the devastating effects of air raids, missiles, drones, and aviation attacks
from the Russian armed forces. Tragically, numerous members of the Federation have
taken up arms at the frontlines in defense of the nation, and some athletes and coaches
have become volunteers, offering their courage and strength in the face of adversity.
Regrettably, the ongoing conflict has forced young, promising athletes to seek refuge
abroad in order to continue their training in safety.
It is with profound regret that the Ukrainian Triathlon Federation has learned of the
Russian delegate's attendance at the XXXV World Triathlon Congress in Abu Dhabi and
the resumption of dialogue with Russia. Adding to this distress is the fact that the
President of the Russian Triathlon Federation, Ksenia Shoigu, is the daughter of the
Russian Defense Minister, Sergei Shoigu, who bears responsibility for the merciless
killing of Ukrainian citizens and athletes alike.
In light of these developments, the Ukrainian Triathlon Federation expresses its intense
indignation at the lifting of sanctions on Russian triathletes, which it considers an
unacceptable affront. Our Federation implores all those who share its values and ideals to
join it in refusing to cooperate with the aggressor country in any form until the hostilities
against Ukraine have ceased. It further calls upon the international triathlon community to
lend its support in denying participation of athletes from the Russian Federation in any
international competitions, as a symbol of solidarity with the innocent Ukrainian citizens
who – including the future of Ukrainian sport – continue to suffer and sacrifice in the face
of relentless aggression.
